Street shooting as gangs clash

A MAN was shot and another stabbed during a street fight between two rival gangs.
The brawl erupted in Heywood Street, close to Bury town centre, at around 3.30pm on Saturday.
Terrified members of the public ran for cover as a gun was fired.
Local residents believe the incident was a dispute between two rival factions from Bolton and say the fight could have been drugs-related.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and found a small group of Asian men had become involved in a fight.

Gang go on robbing rampage in town

A GANG of teenagers attack-ed three people in just over an hour in Halifax town centre.
The gang of five or six youths, aged between 16 and 18, robbed and assaulted three men on Friday afternoon.
The first attack happened at around 2.50pm in Prescott Street when a pensioner was pushed to the ground.

Police are appealing for witnesses or any other victims to come forward. The gang are believed to be Asian.
Detective Sergeant Chris Wood said: "These are three very nasty offences, which add up to the group going on some sort of rampage through the town.
"We think we have pictures of them on security cameras having a confrontation with another man earlier."
